In this special nook you will find books that are just right for new readers:
Finding a Book:
Have you found a book you like but are wondering if it's a good match for you?
Opening the book to a page in the middle that has words.
Read the page and hold up a finger each time you get to a word that is tricky or hard.
When you get to the bottom of the page count how many fingers you are holding up.
If you are holding up 1 or 2 fingers that book is a good match for you.
If you are holding up 3 or 4 fingers you may need someone to help you while you read.
If you are holding up 5 or more fingers you may want to save that book for a future Library visit.
Come and Play:
Explore in the Adventure Table - every month it is filled with new materials.
Play and learn at the Computer Station.
Color a picture, try a word search or find your way through a tricky paper maze at the Activity Table.
Curl up in a bean bag chair in the book nook and read a book or a magazine.
